WHOO Loves You
Wednesday’s Challenge at Splitcoast Stamper’s website is a sketch challenge. See the sketch here SC196.

I don’t know why I have such a hard time coloring. Whenever I use our regular whisper white cardstock and a blender pen, I usually don’t like the way it turns out - I’m just not that great of a colorer. In the photo, it looks like I’ve used black as cardstock mats, but it’s really chocolate chip!

| Ink: Chocolate chip, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, More Mustard, Creamy Caramel, Basic Black, Really Rust, Cameo Coral |

Thanks for looking!

why do you have a hard time coloring when you use whisper white? because… the card stock…. well, let’s just say SU needs to go back to the drawing board with their very vanilla and whisper while. You will have much better success if you were using a base that would cooperate with your medium. I’m not bashing SU stuff, I love all of the other cardstock they offer… But, WW and VV are at the bottom of my list. Try using Confetti Cream or C White - I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. MHO

Yes, I’d agree with your assessment, and there still needs to be a very vanilla and whisper white for mats, backgrounds, card bases, and regular stamping. Meaning, for coloring in line art, it’s not the best choice. I always pull out my confetti white/cream when I watercolors/aqua brush and stazon. I usually forget when I’m using only a blender pen, but remember too late, that it is still a little wet. Like when I put the chocolate chip marker direct to the owl’s body, after I colored the more mustard, and the paper soaked up the marker’s tip and pilled a little. It came out super dark too! I love the watercolor paper, and almost always use that when I make things like the card on the cover of the catalog. The post was http://papercharms.com/cards/watercolor-beauty/
